Remembering the Grace and Legacy of Atitje Arryman
(October 19, 1956 – October 21, 2025)
A respected Indonesian sociologist and cultural advocate, Atitje was widely known for her dedication to preserving Indonesia’s traditional textiles and empowering local artisans. Her lifelong commitment to nurturing batik and handwoven crafts across regions—from West Sumatra and Bali to West Nusa Tenggara and Jambi—reflected her deep love for Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
Through her insight and spirit, Atitje supported ISRSF’s mission to advance education, research, and cultural understanding in Indonesia. Her belief in the power of knowledge and creativity to uplift communities remains an enduring inspiration.
Her passion, generosity, and integrity will continue to inspire many.
May she rest in peace and light.
