"Contours of Inequality: Power, Protest, and Privilege in Southeast Asia"
The Institute for Advanced Research (IFAR) at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to participate in the inaugural IFAR Consortium Annual Conference, to be held on August 12–14, 2026, at UIII’s green campus in Depok, West Java, Indonesia.
This year’s theme, “Contours of Inequality: Power, Protest, and Privilege in Southeast Asia,” seeks to foster critical dialogue on the multiple dimensions of inequality—its roots, manifestations, and consequences across political, social, economic, and technological spheres.
IFAR UIII welcomes paper and panel proposals exploring, but not limited to, the following areas:
1. State-building, economic development, and inequality
2. Globalization, economic policies, and inequality
3. Power, identity, marginality, and exclusion
4. Climate, resource politics, and inequality
5. Technology, artificial intelligence, and inequality
6. The consequences of political and economic inequality
